The first instrument ever made was the flute which dates back to between 67,000 and 37,000 years ago. The first flutes were made out of bird bones and mammoth ivory. Another early instrument was the drum. This drum was made out of elephant skin around 37,000 years ago. This little bit of information shows that music has been around for thousands and thousands of years and are still changing today. Flutes now are made out of metal, brass, copper, and some even wood! Drums are also made differently, people no longer use elephant skin but instead they use wood for the body and a polyester plastic for the top.  Instruments are used daily to help with sound of a certain genre. For example classical music usually uses pianos, harps, organs, flutes, violins, ect, jazz/blues music usually uses harmonicas,  upright bass, piano, trumpet, trombone, saxophone, ect, Pop music usually uses guitar, piano, bass, drums, ect. Along with the people i just named there are also some popular instrumentalists like Beethoven,  Mozart, and so forth. Beethoven was blind but he still created beautiful music like ode to joy and his 4th symphony. Sadly Beethoven never finished his 10th symphony before he died. Mozart also made very beautiful symphonies and performed over 600 works before his death.
